ENDURANCE
Endurance competitions are conducted to verify the quality, speed and endurance of the horse. In order to participate in such competitions each athlete must be well prepared and have the correct attitude towards his horse while riding through the rough terrain. In endurance competitions every individual of the Equine type is considered a horse.
The competition consists of individual stages, which are part of it and can be timed individually. At the end of each stage, in principle, at least every 40 km., a compulsory break is made for veterinary examination. Depending on the nature of the competition the different stages may be held throughout 3 or more days. Whatever the regulations and rules of starting, each competitor has to travel the entire distance of the race, seeking to show the quality of endurance and speed in his horse in the best way. The rider and horse, which travel all the distance, set for the specific competition, for the shortest time is ranked in first place.
